not really! ha ha. sorry ugly doll, just kidding, you’re really cute.
so how DID nycc go, anyway? well, i signed some i love geeks books at the awesomeness of all awesome comic news insider booth. they made me a little sign with my name on it and everything, see?
thanks, joe and jimmy! and thanks for letting me read out the raffle ticket numbers. i felt a small sense of power with that responsibility, alternately dashing hopes and realizing dreams. i talked with fellow book-signer molly crabapple, founder of dr. sketchy’s anti-art school and awesome illustrator. i met writer tony lee (doctor who, among others) and his charming british accent. i also met dacre stoker – bram stoker’s great grand-nephew and author of the first stoker-approved sequel to dracula. so i guess that makes it the first OFFICIAL sequel to dracula. the not-so-secret goth in me squealed in cautious glee.
other stuff:
- nerds got excited at the marvel booth every day, several times a day.
- stan lee was not there, guys. and we don’t know the panel line-up for the day, but you’re welcome anyway, disgruntled dad. did you see “information” stamped on jimmy’s forehead? sheesh.
- takashi miike IS THE BEST EVERRRRRRR, badass and funny. yatterman looks chaotic, nonsensical, confusing, and absolutely everything it should be. yatterwoof!
- dear nerd who hoped his “moods” didn’t get the best of him at the miike panel: they did.
- there were lots and lots of gaming folk there. LOTS. mad world looks very cool, and i will probably want to play house of the dead overkill, just so i can shoot a little wii gun.
- damn you, whoever bought the cheer bear care bear i was going for. you made my inner child cry.
until next year…or, san diego in july. maybe.

san diego? really?! you know i’ll be there. we must chat…
